Lisa Casinella, DVM

Dr. Lisa Casinella graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1996 and then fulfilled an internship position at BREC for two years.  She first came to Blue Ridge Equine Clinic as an Intern.  She then went on to practice ambulatory medicine in the Richmond area. In 2001,  Lisa returned to BREC as an ambulatory practitioner specializing in the performance horse.  She has a comprehensive background in the sport horse, show horse, and race horse industries.  Lisa is actively involved with Thoroughbred yearling/two-year-old "in training" sales throughout the country.  She has served as the Official U.S.E.F. Veterinarian for the 2006 U.S. Vaulting Team in Germany and the 2007 U.S. Developing Young Riders Show Jumping Team in Finland, Norway, and Belgium.  Lisa also adds complimentary medicine to her portfolio, utilizing equine acupuncture. as a treatment modality.  She is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Virginia Association of Equine Practitioners.
