Blue Ridge Equine Client Services

Established in 1979, Blue Ridge Equine Clinic is a full service equine veterinary clinic serving central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley.

The Main Office is located in Albemarle county between Free Union and Earlysville. Our ambulatory veterinarians serve Albemarle and surrounding counties. Out outpatient and referral clientele come form all over the Mid-Atlantic region.

Blue Ridge Equine Clinic's mission is to provide the best quality equine veterinary care for our patients and their owners. We are staffed by eight veterinarians, three interns, and an excellent technical and support staff.

The facility includes a 15-stall main barn, 5-stall isolation barn, complete surgical suite, and an arena. BREC's advanced diagnostic services consist of a full service clinical laboratory, digital rediography with four portable and one large hospital

Our clients consist mainly of sport horses- foxhunters, hunter/ jumpers, dressage horses and eventers- as well as several Thoroughbred training facilities. Clientele also include Western performance horses and over 200 breeding animals. The composition of the clinic's caseload is approximatly 30% surgery, 30% internal medicine, 30% lameness, and 10% reproductive medicine.

Our surgery services cover everything from routine wound care to colic surgery, anthroscopy, upper respiratory procedures and other soft tissue orthopedic problems. Additionally, there are several specialists that work with us to provide advanced orthopedic, neurologic, and ophthalmic surgeries.
