UPDATE: The featured speaker for the
upcoming BREC seminar is Harry Werner, VMD. Dr Werner is a noted
international speaker on the subject of Equine Purchase Exams
having presented on this subject at many AAEP, state and
international meetings. He is the head of Werner Equine Clinic
in Ganby, Ct. and a past president of the AAEP. The
presentations will encompass the basics of the purchase exam,
the communications surrounding the exam, the medical-legal
dilemmas, radiographic and ancillary exams and many case
discussions. Dr Midge Leitch of the University of Pennsylvania
was to participate as well, however due to illness will be
unable to come. She has supplied her cases to Dr Werner for his
inclusion and that portion of the discussions will be assisted
by Dr Cowles and others. The case based discussions will be for
the entire audience and the panel will include Dr Dan Flynn, as
a noted practicitioner and Abby Sage VMD, ACVIM. We look forward
to a great day of interactive discussion and participation.

On
the Second Saturday of each month,
Blue Ridge Equine
Clinic will be open for any routine
procedures including: vaccines, dentistry, Coggins tests, sheath cleaning, etc. This
in-clinic service is offered to accommodate
those whose busy schedules don't allow for
weekday appointments. There will be no
office call fee, and appointments are
encouraged, but not required.

Mobile MRI Schedule
We are pleased to announce our
continued partnership with MREquine,
a mobile equine MRI company. In the
past few years the service has had
preset dates at it remote locations,
like BREC. This year, in an effort
to become more efficient and
minimize travel expenses, MREquine
has requested each remote site have
at least two studies to perform
before committing to travel to a
site. We will contact MREquine as
soon as we have confirmed the
minimum of two studies and we hope
to be able to schedule the MRI scan
within 1-2 weeks of that time. We
appreciate your patience and
understanding with the scheduling
and are committed to trying to
provide timely service. Please feel
