Text Box: Congratulations to the United States Vaulting Team and Lisa Casinella.  Lisa recently served as the official USEF veterinarian for the US Vaulting Team that won the CVI 2-star competition in Rein, Germany.  Vaulting is a popular sport in Europe where quality dressage horses are lunged to the left in a surcingle, competing in compulsory, free-style and team competitions, and are judged both on horsemanship and the horse’s athletic performance.  There are approximately 60,000 vaulting competitors in the EU from which to choose teams, while in the US, there are only 1000 competitors from which to choose.  In addition to the duties as the team veterinarian, Lisa was involved in the selection of the team horses for the upcoming World Equestrian Games, to be held in Aachen, Germany, in approximately one month.  Lisa enjoyed her short time in Germany and was particularly impressed with the sportsmanship demonstrated by all the international competitors.  A true comradery exists among the participants as they frequently share horses and help one another prepare for the competition.
