Dr. Gallagher was raised in the small town of Fuquay-Varina, NC. Early on, she developed a love for horses and learned to ride Saddleseat. Her heart horse Berry was a strong-willed yet kind chestnut Arabian mare. This passion for horses evolved into a love for veterinary medicine, especially surgery. Dr. Gallagher completed her doctorate in veterinary medicine at NC State before joining the BREC family in 2021 for a rotating internship. A second rotating internship was then completed at the University of Missouri. Dr. Gallagher has spent the past three years finishing her Equine Surgery residency at Iowa State University. While she is eternally grateful to the amazing people and mentors at ISU, Dr. Gallagher is excited to be returning to Blue Ridge Equine Clinic to fulfill her lifelong dream of providing surgical services to horses and helping the people that love them. Leaving the land of corn and tornadoes behind, Dr. Gallagher is looking forward to being close to family and enjoying the Blue Ridge mountains again. While residency doesn't always find time for hobbies, Dr. Gallagher's hobbies in theory would include spending time with family and friends, horseback riding/training (she's interested in learning dressage!), car detailing, and maybe even picking up candle making.

Dr. Megan Gallagher grew up in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, where her early love for horses helped inspire her path to veterinary medicine. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from NC State, completed rotating internships in equine medicine and surgery, and spent the past three years completing an Equine Surgery residency at Iowa State University. Her professional passion is equine surgery, and she is excited to return to Blue Ridge Equine Clinic to provide surgical care for horses and support the people who love them.

Dr. Reynolds Cowles is the esteemed founder of Blue Ridge Equine Clinic and a 1967 Oklahoma State graduate who specializes in lameness in performance and racing horses and is a highly decorated leader, having served as Vice President of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP).

Dr. Erica Beadle is a Texas A&M graduate who spent 8 years at Waller Equine Hospital, focusing her veterinary interests on internal medicine, preventative care, and dentistry while actively competing her dog, Sparrow, in Upland Hunt Tests and Fast CAT.
